Some of the newly released smartphones and tablet computers run on an operating system called Android. The Android OS was first released in November 5, 2007 when the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of 84 hardware, software, and telecommunication companies, was founded. This group of companies wanted to progress the open standards of mobile phone devices thus, members of this community wrote “apps” (short for applications) that increased the functionality of electronic devices. Today, there are about 250,000 or more applications for Android OS and these apps can be downloaded from third-party sites or online stores such as the Android Market, an app store run exclusively by Google.
Online stores that sell or promote downloadable apps for Android phones and tablets usually have very high levels of user traffic. These sites need to function well at all times of the day, every day of the week. In order to function at such high levels, these sites must be on reliable host providers.
Information on whether a host company is reliable or not cannot be viewed by reading the host provider’s official website, however, this data may be found on rating and comments left on web hosting review sites.
Web host reviews, such as Blue Host Review, are independently run sites that show unbiased evaluations of a company’s products and services. The data on these sites; both the ratings and comments, come from independent, third-party reviewers most if not all of whom have been or still are subscribers of the host provider. Host reviews can be readily accessed on the internet and can be viewed by anyone at anytime.
